Our Board


GREG MAY

Greg May has been a lifelong resident of Pike County, KY and resides in Pikeville with his wife Menette. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Greg has owned his own business since 2005 where serves clients in Kentucky and Virginia. His primary business is in contract operations for municipalities operating their water and wastewater utilities. Greg has worked in various fields during his life which    included mining, utilities and public service. In 2017 thru 2020 Greg and his partner developed the first   120 bed men and women drug rehabilitation centers in Kentucky where they partnered with Addiction Recovery Care to operate the facilities. Greg is dedicated and determined to help the drug addition problem in the Appalachian Region. Greg’s vision is to see the people’s addiction problems of the region to go from addiction to treatment to meaningful employment while finding Christian spiritual enrichment and development. Greg contributes many hours to public service and was most recently honored with the Paul Harris Fellow award from the local Rotary Club for his contributions to the community.



CHARLES "Rusty" JUSTICE

Charles “Rusty” Justice has been a business owner in Eastern Kentucky since 1985. His various business investments include companies that provide services related to engineering, land development, telecom, software development, and broadcasting. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Kentucky in Mining and Civil Engineering. Rusty is dedicated to improving educational opportunities for the youth of his region. His companies have provided a summer internship program for over 30 years, focused on students interested in STEM related careers. He has served on the Board of Directors for St. Francis Elementary School and as the Vice President of Big Sandy Community and Technical College. He is currently representing the state of Kentucky in the entrepreneur’s role as part of the first domestic cohort at the MIT Sloan Global Management Schools’, “Regional Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program”. Rusty combines his love for business with a deep appreciation of Appalachia’s rich heritage. He works to leverage his capabilities to grow the local economy through diverse projects with cultural value that celebrate the Appalachian identity and promote its future. Rusty currently resides in Pikeville with his wife, Linda. They have one daughter, Elon.


BOBBY STURGEON

Bobby Sturgeon has been an investor and business owner in KY since 2012. He has a bachelors degree from Northern Kentucky University. The majority of his ventures are in the Health Care Industry. Bobby currently serves on the the Board for The Well of Kentucky which helps to fight Human trafficking.   With business partner Greg May, Bobby founded GMBS Holdings which focuses on repurposing facilities in Eastern KY to serve the Addicition Community. Bobby is married to Casey Sturgeon and has two daughters, Lilly and Lola.  Bobby currently resides in Lexington, KY.   


JESSE MCKNIGHT

Jesse is a founding partner of Land Use Strategies, LLC – a public relations, government affairs, and campaign strategy firm. He works at the crossroads of political consulting, lobbying, grassroots organizing and land use politics. Jesse has led teams to win state political campaigns, adapted campaign strategies and tactics to win community support for major development projects and won referendum campaigns against sophisticated environmental and special interest groups.


Prior to his consulting career, he served for eight years as state director and as campaign director for the late U.S. Senator Wendell H. Ford (D-Kentucky). He received a BA from University of Kentucky, an MBA from St. Mary’s College, attended MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program, University of California-Berkeley and University of California-Davis CEQA CLE programs. He has spoken at ULI and national waste industry meetings and published articles on land use politics in Solid Waste Magazine, Airport World, American Infrastructure and American Recycler magazines. Jesse lives outside San Francisco with his wife and four children.
